Synodontis multipunctatus Boulenger 1898, the Many-Spotted Synodontis, Cuckoo Catfish. East Central Africa; Lake Tanganyika. To eleven inches total length in the wild. Cond.s dH 15-35, temp. 21-25 C. Found on muddy bottoms to depths of 100 meters. Notable as the only fish to practice brood parasitism. Lays eggs amongst cichlid nests, its young growing faster eating the cichlid fry. Pangasius hypophthalmus (formerly sutchi) (Sauvage 1878), the Pangasius or Sutchi Catfish or Iridescent, Asian, Mystic... Shark. To 130 cm. (yes, more than four feet) in length, 15.5 kg. Cond.s: pH range: 6.5 - 7.5; dH range: 2.0 - 29.0; tropical; 22 - 26°C. A very hardy aquarium species, but does inhale smaller tankmates...
