| Polypterus delhezi, the
Armored Bichir, is a grey and white beauty with a handful of dark
vertical upper body bars.

| Polypterus senegalus is
perhaps the most common species found, and though a somber tannish
brown, is still a handsome animal. Aptly called the Senegal or
Cuvier's Bichir after it's scientific describer, this fish
is used as food today as it was in the Pharaohs'
